For the second time, I had the chance to give a public presentation about Laaz (לעז), my website of Hebrew translations to (mostly) famous pop songs. It’s in Hebrew, so some of you will not understand, BUT if you skip to 9:30 or so, you will see me performing with the guitar 5 songs that users uploaded to laaz. Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, Queen, and two songs by The Beatles.
Have fun
I was an Israeli music week in Kol HaKampus 106FM, and Nir Gorali and Gil Matus did a show with Hebrew covers for famous pop songs: Beatles, Beyoncé, and many more. I was a guest there because of my website – Laaz – which contains free translation for popular songs, and not only I talked about it, I also sang 5 songs that the users from Laaz did. I took Aya, my friend, as reinforcement. I’m not a proffessional musician or something, so the mood was like sitting with freinds around the fire and play guitar with friends.
I was invited to talk about my website Laaz (לעז) last week, in an event called 11:11, inspired by events like TED. I had 11 minutes to talk, and I used the first 7 for talking and the rest for playing and singing a duet with my friend Aya – a cover for Elton John’s Don’t Go breaking My Heart.
It was the first time i’ve ever: gave a lecture, talked to a mic, sung on a stage, played guitar with an amp… So I was extremely nervous, But the expirience was great, and the rest of the evening which had 10 other talks was interesting and so much fun.
* The presentation is in Hebrew, without subtitles. It will be so lost in translation… :/
